This page answers what each number on Stats means, and what it deliberately does not claim to know.

Gigs

Followers gained is the number worth watching across months, not single nights.

A gig is a night you ran a display. The display has to run for at least 15 minutes before it counts. A soundcheck or a five-minute test never inflates the number.

Results appear about half an hour after you close the display, not instantly. The delay lets us count a night once, complete, rather than in pieces as you open and close things.

Time on display

How long your display actually ran, across the last three months and all time. It is a fair measure of how much you have been out, and the least ambiguous number here.

Followers gained

The change in your following across your gigs. This needs Instagram connected — without it the page says gig tracking is off, and links you to the setting.

This is the number worth watching over months rather than nights. A single gig is noisy; ten gigs tell you whether the display is doing its job.

Gig by gig

Your recent nights, each with the date, how long the display ran, and what happened to your following. Nights before you connected Instagram show as not measured rather than as zero, because zero would be a lie.

Open decks

If you have played open decks nights, you get a separate block: sets played, scans, follows, and anything you were tipped.

A scan during an open decks night can also appear in the venue’s figures for that night. Seeing the same scan in two places is normal — you are each looking at your own side of it.

What is not measured

  • Scans of your own code outside an open decks night. We can count the page load, but we cannot tie it to one night, so we do not claim it.
  • Clicks on individual links. Not currently counted.
  • Anything on other platforms. Follows that happened somewhere other than Instagram are invisible here.

What this is not

These are not analytics dashboards and there is nothing to set up. You get a handful of numbers that answer “was that room worth playing”. Where there is no honest answer, the page says so rather than inventing one.
