Taking tips
When you’re done, anyone who scans your code can tip you in two taps, with the amount already filled in.
Turn on tips
- Open DJ profile and go to the Links tab.
- Turn on tips and add the services you use. There are 5 to choose from.
- Enter your username on each service. That is where the money goes.
- Set your suggested amounts. Three works best — a low one, a middle one, and one that is flattering to press.
How a tip actually happens
- Someone scans your code and lands on your page.
- They tap a tip button and pick an amount.
- Their payment app opens with your username and the amount already there.
- They confirm it in that app. The money goes straight to you.
Tips on screen
A tip appearing on the screen is the single most effective encouragement to the next person. Nobody wants to be the first, and everybody is happy to be the second.
Venue tips are separate
If you run a room, your venue page has its own tip settings pointing at the venue’s accounts. They stay off until you switch them on, and they stay separate from your personal ones. That matters the moment anyone else runs the room.
If it didn’t work
No tip buttons on your page. They start at Creator.
A button opens the wrong account. Check the username you entered. Usernames differ between services, even when the name looks the same.
Someone says a tip did not arrive. Check your payment app, not Hype Display. We do not process or hold the money, so there is nothing on our side to look at.
What this is not
We take no cut. There is no processing fee from us, no balance, and no payout to wait for. Whatever your payment app charges is between you and them.Last updated 2026-08-01
