Fill in your venue page

This page is for people running a venue or a night. If you’re a DJ looking to play, start here.

When you’re done, you’ll have a page you can send to any DJ that answers most of what they were going to ask you.

Decide who can see it first

Set this before you start, not after. There are three states, and Unlisted is the default:

  • Public — appears in search, on city pages and in Google.
  • Unlisted — works for anyone with the link, but is not listed anywhere. Good while you fill it in.
  • Private — only you.

The basics

  1. Open Venue profile and claim your venue name.
  2. Add the address. Start typing and pick from the suggestions so the map lands in the right place.
  3. Write a short description. What kind of room it is and what nights you run.
  4. Add photos. The booth, the floor, and the room with people in it.

What is in the booth

This is the section worth taking seriously. A DJ deciding whether to play your room wants to know what they are walking into, and almost nowhere publishes it. Listing your decks, mixer and monitors saves both of you an exchange of messages every single time.

  1. Find In the booth and add your gear by category.
  2. Be specific. Model numbers, not “industry standard”.
  3. Say if something is missing or broken. DJs bring their own if they know in advance.

Contact and money

  1. Add a contact email and, if you want, a phone number and website.
  2. Add your venue’s own social accounts.
  3. Turn on tips here if you take them as the venue rather than as yourself. They stay off until you switch them on.
Venue socials and venue tips are separate from your personal DJ ones. Money that comes in through the venue page goes to the venue’s accounts, not yours. That is the point if anyone else ever runs the room.

Publish

  1. Go back to the visibility setting at the top.
  2. Switch it to Public.
  3. Decide whether to show your roster on the page.

Check it workedOpen your venue address in a private browsing window. The map should load and your booth list should be there.

If it didn’t work

The map is in the wrong place. Re-enter the address using the suggestions rather than typing it out in full.

The page is not in search. Only public pages appear. Unlisted works by link but is deliberately invisible to search.
