Your QR code

When you’re done, anyone in the room can scan your screen and land on your page. It’s the single setting that turns attention into something you keep.

What it points at

We generate the code for you, and it always points at the right page. You never type a web address into it, and you cannot point it somewhere wrong.

  • On your own display, it goes to your link page.
  • On a venue screen, it goes to that screen’s page.
  • On an open decks screen, it goes to the night’s sign-up page.
Your DJ handle and your venue handle are separate names, and each one owns its own web addresses. Handles and addresses.

Turn it on

  1. Open Display settings and choose the Engage tab.
  2. Turn on Show QR code.
  3. Pick a size. There are 4, and the largest is not too large for a room.
  4. Pick a corner. Choose one where a person or a speaker stack will not cover it.
Size it larger than feels necessary — the back of the room is further than it looks.

Getting it scanned

  • Bigger than feels necessary. A code that is comfortable at two metres is unreadable at ten, and ten is where most of the room is.
  • Above head height. A code at waist level is behind somebody all night.
  • Leave it up. People scan between tracks, not during the drop. Most of the room misses a code that only shows for ten seconds.
  • Say it out loud once. One mention on the mic is worth more than any placement change.

A printable version

The QR settings include a download option. It gives you the same code as an image with your branding around it. Use it on flyers, on the booth, on a table tent — anywhere the screen is not.

The image locks in your handle at the moment you download it. If you rename your handle later, download it again before printing more.

If it didn’t work

There is no QR code on screen. You have not claimed a handle, so the code has nowhere to point.

It will not scan in the room. Go up a size first. If it still fails, the screen is probably too dim or at too sharp an angle.

It goes somewhere unexpected. Check which screen you are running. A venue screen points at that screen’s page, not your personal one.
