The display

The display is the page the room looks at. It runs fullscreen in a browser and shows your name or your logo, a moving background, a QR code, and anything happening live while you play.

The editor and the display are different pages

This trips people up on the first night, so it is worth being clear. There are two pages, and they do different jobs.

  • Display settings is where you change things. It has a live preview beside the controls, so you can see what you are doing without a second screen.
  • Launch display opens the real thing — the page you put on the screen the crowd sees. It has no controls until you ask for them.

The preview and the display are the same code, so what you see while editing is what the room gets. Change something on your laptop mid-set and the screen follows.

What is on it

  • Your branding — your name in a font you pick, or your logo.
  • A background — a moving pattern, a video, or a playlist of videos.
  • A QR code — pointing at your link page.
  • Live moments — a new follower, a tip landing, a message you want the room to see.

Four kinds of screen

  • Your DJ display — yours, with your branding. Every account has one.
  • The house screen — a venue’s own, with the venue’s branding.
  • The open decks screen — shows whoever is playing right now and who is up next, and switches on its own.
  • Numbered screens — extra screens around a building, each with its own QR code.

What this is not

The display does not listen to your audio and does not sync to the beat. If you want visuals cut to the music, that is a VJ tool, and this is not one. What this does is tell a room who you are and give them a way to act on it.
