Running it at a gig

When you’re done, you’ll have a screen that survives a four-hour night without you thinking about it again.

Before you leave home

  1. Open your display once on the device you are bringing, and let it fully load.
  2. Scan your own QR code with your phone and check the page it lands on.
  3. Pack the cable. Venues rarely have the one you need.

Check it workedScanning your own code should open your link page with your links on it. If it does not, fix that now rather than in a dark room.

If you have installed the display as an app, open it once at home. It will then run at the venue even if their wi-fi is unusable.

At the venue

  1. Ask what the screen actually is before you plug in. A TV, a projector and an LED wall all want different settings.
  2. Connect and set the second screen to extend, not mirror.
  3. Drag the display window across, then put it fullscreen on that screen.
  4. Walk to the back of the room and look at it. This is the step people skip, and it is the one that finds every real problem.

What to check from the back

  • Can you read your name? If not, go up a size or add a shadow.
  • Can you scan the code from there? If not, it is too small — this is the most common mistake.
  • Is anything in the way? Speaker stacks, a lighting bar and a tall person all block corners.
  • Does it wash out? Projectors lose contrast badly with house lights up. Darker background, brighter name.

During the set

You should not need to touch it. If you do, move the mouse to bring the top bar back, then open the settings panel. It opens over the display without taking the screen down, so the room never sees a menu.

If you are playing several rooms in a venue, the display carries a switcher rail on each edge. The number keys do the same job.

If something looks wrong

The screen went to sleep. The device is probably on battery. Plug it in.

Everything froze. Reload the page. We save your settings as you make them, so you lose nothing.

The visuals stutter. Switch to a simpler pattern. House laptops and older devices often cannot drive the heavier ones at full screen size.

The venue’s wi-fi died. The screen keeps running. Live alerts pause until it comes back; nothing else changes.
