Run the display

When you’re done, your screen will be running fullscreen, staying awake on its own, and showing the room your branding.

Open it

  1. From your dashboard, choose Launch display. It opens the real screen, not the editor.
  2. Accept the fullscreen prompt when it appears. Browsers only allow fullscreen in response to a click, which is why it asks rather than doing it for you.
  3. Drag the window onto the screen the room can see, then put it fullscreen there.

Check it workedThe room should see your name or logo, a moving background, and — if you have claimed a handle — a QR code in the corner. No browser chrome, no controls.

Getting the controls back

The bar at the top hides itself after a few seconds so the room does not see it. Move the mouse or tap the screen to bring it back. From there you can open the settings panel, leave fullscreen, or go back to your dashboard.

The settings panel opens over the display without stopping it, so you can change a colour mid-set without taking the screen down. Press Esc to close it.

Onto a TV or projector

  • HDMI is the reliable option. Plug in, set the second screen to extend rather than mirror, drag the window across, then fullscreen it.
  • Casting works but drifts. Wireless casting can drop frames on a busy venue network. If the room has a cable, use the cable.
  • A smart TV browser is fine for a static screen. Sign in on the TV once and leave it.

Keeping it awake

The display asks your device to stay awake as long as it is running, so it will not sleep or show a screensaver mid-set. You will see a small indicator confirming it is holding.

Some devices ignore that request when running on battery. If you are using a laptop for the screen, plug it in — that resolves it on almost every machine.

If the wi-fi drops

The screen keeps running. The device holds your branding, your visuals and your QR code once the page has loaded, so a drop mid-set does not take the screen down. Only the live parts pause: follower counts stop updating and alerts stop arriving until it reconnects.

If you know the venue’s wi-fi is bad, install the display as an app first. The Install option in the advanced settings makes it open like any other app, and keeps everything it needs on the device.

If it didn’t work

Fullscreen will not stick. Some browsers exit fullscreen when the window moves between screens. Move it first, then fullscreen it.

The screen sleeps anyway. Plug the device in, and check that the operating system is not forcing sleep on a timer.

No QR code. You have not claimed a handle yet, so the code has nowhere to point.
