Backgrounds and colours
When you’re done, your screen will have a moving background and a colour scheme that matches your look. Your name will still read clearly on top of it.
Pick a background
- Open Display settings and choose the Visuals tab.
- Pick a pattern. There are 8 that take your colours, plus 5 preset looks with colours of their own.
- Watch the preview for a few seconds before deciding. They all move differently.
Check it workedThe preview should be moving. If it is still, the pattern has not applied — reload the page and pick it again.
Every plan includes 3 patterns. The rest, and the preset looks, come in at Creator.
Colours
There are 6 ready-made schemes, and a custom picker if none of them is your colour. Every plan includes both, free ones too.
- Choose the Colours tab.
- Pick a scheme, or choose custom and set your own.
- Check your name is still readable. Bright backgrounds eat white text.
Check it workedStep back from your screen. Your name should read cleanly against the busiest moment of the background, not just the calm parts.
Choosing one that works in the room
- Busy room, busy lights? Go calmer than you would at home. A slow pattern reads as intentional; a fast one competes with the rig and loses.
- Projector rather than a TV? Contrast drops a lot. Darker backgrounds with a bright name hold up far better than the reverse.
- Screen in the corner of your eye? Movement pulls attention. A pattern that drifts catches more eyes than a static one.
- People taking photos? Your name needs to survive a phone camera at distance in low light. Test that before the night, not during it.
Video instead
Video backgrounds and blends have their own page. They behave differently enough to be worth reading separately.
If it didn’t work
Some patterns look greyed out. They come in at Creator. We remember your choice either way, so a pattern you picked on a higher plan comes back when you upgrade.
The background runs rough on an old device. The patterns use the graphics chip. On older hardware, pick a simpler one or use a plain colour and let your branding carry the screen.
