Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up most, with short answers.

Questions

What do I need to run this at a gig?

A screen the room can see and a browser to put on it. A TV, a projector, a spare laptop or a tablet all work. There is nothing to install, though you can install it like an app if you want it to work without wi-fi.

Does it work if the venue wi-fi is bad?

Yes. Once the screen has loaded, your branding, visuals and QR code run from the device. If the connection drops mid-set the screen keeps going. Only live things pause — follower counts stop updating and alerts stop arriving until it reconnects.

Do you take a cut of tips?

No. Tips never pass through us. A tip button opens your payment app with your username and the amount already filled in. The money goes straight from the person tipping to you. There is no balance here and nothing to withdraw.

Do I need a venue plan to play open decks nights?

No. Claiming a slot and playing is free on every plan, including the free one. Venue plans are for the people running the nights, not the people playing them.

Can I use this without paying anything?

Yes. The free plan puts your name and a QR code on screen, with a link page behind it. A venue page with a roster costs nothing either. Paid plans add your logo, more visuals, live alerts and nights people can sign up to play.

Why does my account page show a different plan from the display editor?

The account page shows what you pay for on each side separately. The editor shows what you can actually use, which may be higher — a paid venue plan includes top-level DJ features for your own screens.

Can I change my handle later?

Yes, from the same place you claimed it. Your links, profile and QR code all move with you. Anything you have already printed still carries the old address, so treat it like changing a phone number.

Is this VJ software?

No. It does not listen to your audio and does not cut visuals to the beat. It tells a room who you are and gives them a way to act on it. If you want visuals synced to the music, you want a different kind of tool.

Can several people manage the same venue?

A venue account is one login. If you want other DJs tied to the room, that is what a roster is for. It lists the people you work with, without giving them access to your account.

What happens to my stuff if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. Features you no longer pay for stop appearing, and every setting behind them stays exactly where it was. If you subscribe again later it all comes back as you left it.

Not here?

Troubleshooting lists problems by what you are seeing, not by feature. It is usually the faster place to look when something behaves oddly.
