Troubleshooting

Find what you are seeing, not what you think is broken.

The screen

There is no QR code on my screen

You have not claimed a handle, so the code has nowhere to point. Claim one under DJ profile — it takes about ten seconds and costs nothing.

The QR code goes to the wrong page

Check which screen you are running. A venue screen points at that screen’s page, and an open decks screen points at the night’s sign-up page. Both are correct. Neither is your personal page.

Nobody can read my name from the back

  • Go up a size — most people set it two steps too small.
  • Add a shadow or a glow so it separates from the background.
  • Pick a calmer background. Busy visuals eat text.

The screen goes to sleep mid-set

The display asks the device to stay awake, but some devices ignore that on battery. Plug it in. If it still sleeps, check that your operating system is not sleeping it on a timer.

The visuals stutter or the fan screams

The patterns use the graphics chip, and older or shared house laptops struggle at full screen size. Switch to a simpler pattern, or use a plain colour and let your branding carry it.

The screen went blank

Reload the page. Your settings save as you go, so there is nothing to lose. If it goes blank repeatedly on the same device, that device is running out of memory — use another one.

Settings

A setting I expected is not there

It is almost always something your plan does not include. The comparison page lists what each plan gives you.

Moving to a smaller plan never deletes anything. The features you lose go quiet, your settings stay exactly where they are, and they come back the moment you upgrade again. Changing plans.

My account page shows a plan I did not expect

The account page shows each side separately — what you pay for as a DJ, and what you pay for as a venue. The display editor shows what you can use, which may be higher than either.

Signing in

The code never arrives

  • Check spam before asking for another.
  • We only send a few codes in any fifteen-minute window.
  • Codes expire. If you left it a while, ask for a fresh one rather than retyping.

Open it in the same browser you asked for it from. Preview windows inside other apps often cannot complete the sign-in.

Open decks nights

The screen is stuck on the wrong DJ

Advance from the live console on your phone. The screen works to the clock, so a manual push realigns it and everything after shifts along.

A DJ says they cannot claim a slot

  • The night may still be a draft.
  • The sign-up window may not have opened, or may have closed.
  • Slots may be reserved for DJs on your roster.

The times look wrong to a DJ

Check the timezone on the night. You set it per night, not per account, and everything a DJ sees is in venue time.

Public pages

My profile address shows nothing

You need two things: a claimed handle, and publishing turned on. Check both. Test it in a private browsing window rather than the tab you are signed in to.

Venue pages default to unlisted, which works by link but is deliberately invisible to search. Set it to public. Search engines also take time — a new page will not appear the same week.

Still stuck

When you ask for help, include these and it can usually be answered first time:

  • What you saw, and what you expected instead.
  • Which page or screen — the address is ideal.
  • The device and browser.
  • Roughly when it happened.
