Post an event with a lineup

When you’re done, you’ll have an event page with the lineup on it — live the moment you publish, with a link, a QR code and a flyer you can put anywhere.

Create the event

The same goes for promoters and for DJs: any DJ account can post an event under its own name. Only open decks nights — the ones with a slot grid people sign up to — need a paid venue or promoter plan.

1. Open Events and choose New event.
2. If you hold more than one role, pick who is hosting: your venue, your promoter brand, or your DJ name. The event lands on that public page.
3. Give it a title and a line about the vibe. Add a description if there is more to say — door policy, dress code, who the night is for.
4. Say where it happens. A venue hosts in its own room. Promoters and DJs search for the venue, or tap a place they have used before. A private gig — a wedding, a corporate booking — can skip the venue, and stays unlisted.
5. Set when it runs. Start and end; the end fills itself in a few hours after the start, so change it if the night runs longer. Times are shown in the room’s timezone.
6. Add who is playing. Pick from your roster, search by DJ name, paste a DJ’s link, or type a name for someone who is not on Hype Display yet. Set times are optional.
7. Add a ticket link if there is one, and mark the event free if it is free.
8. Choose Publish event.

What publishing does

Publish the event and leave it listed, and it gets a page of its own at a permanent address, like hypedisplay.com/event/your-event. That page shows on your public page while the event is upcoming. After it ends the page stays up as a recap for a month, then drops out of search. Search engines pick it up when the venue has a street address and your own page has something on it — a bare page wastes the click.

Turn on Unlisted and none of that happens: the page exists for anyone with the link, and nowhere else. Unlisted events never count against the cap on upcoming events either. Nights work the same way — a night is an event whose lineup fills itself.

On the lineup, a DJ you add shows as a name with a “TBC” mark until they accept. Once they do, their name links to their page and the event shows on it too. Someone you typed in by hand stays as plain text.

If it is already listed

If someone has already posted an event at that place and time, a card appears before you publish: Already listed here, with the title and the host. Choose Say I’m playing it to ask to be added to their lineup instead of posting a duplicate, or This is a different event to carry on. Two pages for one night split the audience between them.

How many you can post

A free account can hold 10 upcoming listed events at once. From Creator up there is no cap. Every account can post 5 events in a day, and unlisted events never count towards the listed cap. Plans change how many upcoming events you can list, never how any one of them ranks.

Check it workedOpen the event link in a private browsing window. You should see the title, the venue, the time and the lineup, with no need to sign in to look.

If it didn’t work

• “You’ve reached the number of upcoming events your plan includes.” An event that has ended, or one set to unlisted, no longer counts. Publish this one unlisted, wait for one to pass, or move up a plan.
• “You’ve posted a lot of events today.” There is a daily cap on posting, the same on every plan. It resets tomorrow.
• “Pick where it happens.” A listed event needs a venue. Only an unlisted private gig can go without one.
• “This venue isn’t hosting your nights right now.” The room has claimed its page and is not taking events from your account at its address. Ask them, or pick a different venue.
• The times look wrong. Check the timezone on the event. It follows the room, not your phone.
