Build and manage the lineup

The lineup is the part of the event page people actually read. This page covers adding DJs, ordering them, and what each one sees on their side.

Add performers

Before you startManaging a lineup is included on every venue plan, including the free one.
  1. Open Events, find the event, and choose Manage lineup.
  2. In the Add performer row, pick a DJ from your roster chips, search by name, paste the link from their page, or type a name for someone who is not on Hype Display.
  3. Open the set-times expander if you want a start and end against each name. Leave it closed and the page shows the order only.
  4. Use the up and down arrows to put the running order right. The page and the flyer follow the order here.

Each lineup takes 30 performers, and there is a daily cap on adds that grows with your plan. Rosters are the quick route: a DJ on your roster shows an “on your roster” hint, and the chips put them on the lineup in a tap.

Why some names say TBC

Adding a DJ with an account sends them an invite. Until they accept, the event page shows their name as plain text with a “TBC” mark, and the event does not appear on their page. When they accept, the name links to their page, the event shows up on it, and search engines see them on the bill. Being on your roster does not skip this step.

A name you typed by hand has no account behind it, so it stays as text. That is the right way to credit someone who is not here yet.

If a DJ declines, the row disappears and there is a cooling-off period of 30 days before you can add them to an event again. Ask them first next time.

DJs who ask to play

DJs can ask to be added from the event page. Those requests land under Invites, in the section DJs asking to play your events, grouped by event, and the Events tab shows a count until you deal with them. Each one has Approve and Decline. Approving puts them straight on the lineup as confirmed; declining is quiet — the DJ sees the request has gone, nothing more.

  • A request never puts a name on the page by itself. You always approve first.
  • A DJ can withdraw their request or leave the lineup later from their own Invites tab.
  • You can take a name off the lineup at any time; the DJ sees the event drop off their page.

Check it workedOpen the event page in a private browsing window. Confirmed DJs link to their pages; TBC names are plain text. Nobody you did not add appears.

What this is not

The lineup is not a booking system. Nothing is agreed beyond who is on the bill — money, times and riders stay between you and the DJ.
